| This diagram shows the standard method for
piping SKY digital TV to another room in the house with
remote control. Pictures are sent through the second RF
output of the digibox along with a control signal to power
the 'magic
eye TVLink' that allows you to have remote control
in the second room. The quality from this setup is reasonable,
however if you are looking for a much higher quality solution,

CONNECTION:
1. Digibox RF2 output goes to the TVLink using RF ariel
cable.
2. TVLink out to the ariel input of the second TV.
3. Position the 'magic
eye' for use with the remote control.
If all is working, the red LED on the magic eye should
illuminate. If it does not, see the excellent Satcure
site for solutions

If you want to distribute SKY Digital to 2 or more
locations, things become a little more complicated as
you will need an RF distribution amplifier. The trouble
is most of the distribution amps will stop the control
signal from the Digibox and therefore stop the remote
control from working.
You can get around this by using the Triax magic eye
and a Triax distribution amplifier that gets around
this problem.
|
 |
1. Digibox RF2 output goes to the Triax distribution
amplifier input using RF ariel cable.
2. Come out of the distribution amp using output 1
and connect to the Triax magic eye. Connect the other
end of the magic eye to the TV.
3. Position the 'magic eye' for use with the remote
control.
4. Repeat this procedure for other TV's in the house
If all is working, the red LED on the magic eye should
illuminate. If it does not, see the excellent Satcure
site for solutions.

If you want to watch SKY TV in two different rooms (watching
the same channel), the usual way is to run a lead from the
second RF output into a special magic 'eye' and then from
that into your second TV. This does give you the added benefit
of having remote control from either room, however this situation
is not ideal if you have a projector in the lounge and a large,
quality TV in the bedroom as you would want to watch from
both locations in the best possible quality.
The diagram on the left details how to achieve this. For
this example, S-Video has been used however you can do exactly
the same with component.

CONNECTION:
1. Digibox scart out into scart distribution amp input.
2. Output 1 from the scart distribution amp to the scart
input no the TV.
3. Output 2 from the scart distribution amp to the input
of the RGB > S-Video convertor.
4. S-Video and Audio out from the RGB > S-Video convertor
to the S-Video and Audio input of the plasma or projector.
For Remote Control operation:
Run a long RF lead from the second RF output on the Digibox
to the location of your other television. From there, plug
in a TVlink or 'magic eye'. If all is working, the red LED
on the magic eye should illuminate. If it does not, see the
excellent Satcure
site for solutions
